This Saturday, October 21, four boats from Team EYC will square off in a match racing event against Corinthian Yacht Club for the Greenwich Cup. Eastern hopes to take home the Cup for the third year in a row, and this year’s roster is shaping up for a good run.
The format includes four boats from each club, with at least one female helm. It will start with a round robin in which each EYC boat sails against each CYC boat once, and vice versa. The results from the round robin will determine the match-ups for a four-race winner-take-all final series.
On the helm for Team EYC are returning helmsmen Alden Reid and Peter Lynn, joined by Greenwich Cup veteran, but new driver, Beanie Eissner, and junior member DB Murray, who was on the winning boat in the Prince of Wales Marblehead qualifier last spring and is driving the event’s first all-junior boat. The rest of the roster consists of previous Greenwich Cup champs Bill Lynn, Peter Frisch, and Hannah Lynn, as well as newcomers Katie Rodger, Tom Erskine, Andrew Schneider, and Garrett McKinnon, and the junior boat crew of Jack Morgan, Will Piper, Ella Benedetto, and Thomas Svencer.
If your boat is still in, come out and cheer on Team EYC against our harbor rivals!
