Safety at Sea Practical Seminar
EYC Members that love being on boats - powerboats, fishing boats, sailboats, and more - have the opportunity to take this one-day course on June 5th. We will open spots to non-members as well, giving priority to sailors that are participating in the Lambert Ocean Race, the Halifax or Bermuda regattas, or the COSC program to develop offshore sailors.
This highly educational course will give practical experience on life rafts, flares, firefighting at sea, and other safety matters covered in the Safety at Sea curriculum. Participants can work to get fully certified by taking the Online and Written part of the course beforehand through the US Sailing website, Here, or can just opt for the practical experience offered without the goal of certification.
Instruction will take place in the EYC Pool and on the beach. Vaccination is required for participation. Participants will be given a timeslot for their practical by the instructor closer to the date.
Have you been looking for a safe way to dispose of or donate expired flares? We will accept them and use them for this course. Life rafts will be provided, but if a member has an out of date life raft that cannot be repacked we will accept it and dispose of it after use in the practical.
The course is $25 per participant and registration will be through the EYC Website Calendar.
