RACING
The Eastern Yacht Club is one of the premiere racing clubs in the United States. Our members are active participants in every kind of sailboat racing. You'll find all level of racing sailors on our waterfront, almost every day of the week -- from beginning racers to accomplished skippers and crews including top college sailors, Bermuda Race veterans, America's Cup winners, Vendee Globe participants, Mallory and Adams Cup winners, past and prospective Olympians, team racing experts and one design world champions.

PHRF Racing
From late May through September, handicap racing is offered on Wednesday nights, through the popular Boston Yacht Club series, and on Saturdays through a complete program of events and regattas offered through Mass Bay Sailing. Marblehead hosts the PHRF New England Championship each August.

One Design Racing
Throughout the summer, twelve different one design fleets contest races hosted by the Eastern, Boston and Corinthian Yacht Clubs. Active fleets sailing on Saturdays include Etchells, International One Design, J105, J30, J24, Rhodes 19, Sonar, Viper, and Town Class.,The Marblehead Racing Association Summer Championship season begins on Memorial Day and ends Labor Day weekend. Racing is usually offered on Saturday, but there are two day regattas planned for late June and Labor Day weekend.

Marblehead Race Week
Marblehead Race Week is the centerpiece of the one-design season. Held annually for over 100 years, this four-day regatta has recently been added to the National Offshore One Design series as the Marblehead NOOD.

Tuesday Night Laser Series
Sailors from all fleets can be found having fun racing Lasers in a Tuesday Evening Series hosted by the EYC. 4-6 short races right at the mouth of the harbor make the evening accessible, fast-paced and fun.

Team Racing
EYC sailors actively represent the club at local, regional, national and international team racing events.  During the summer, Thursday night is team racing night at the club with practices and the Harbor Challenge Series.  Team Race Thursday nights feature coaching and debriefings facilitated by EYC Sailing Director Greg Wilkinson. This is a great forum to learn the basics of team racing, one of the most exciting sailing formats. EYC actively seeks and regularly receives invitations to major team racing events such as the Lynn Cup, the Jackson Cup, the Hinman Masters and Hinman Championships.

Improving Your Racing Skills
For all enthusiastic sailors, from experienced crew members to new skippers, there is no better place to improve racing skills than the Eastern Yacht Club. During the EYC's sailing season you can race or attend coached clinics almost every day of the week.
