Introduction to EYC Paddle
Posted On: September 26, 2012

The goal of this letter is to provide you with an overview of the EYC paddle program and encourage all EYC members to join in the fun activities that take place over the winter. Paddle tennis is an incremental membership at the EYC requiring a fee of $150 per family which allows you to participate in all of the activities listed in this correspondence. For those new to paddle and not paddle members we have two events scheduled that we encourage you to participate in to learn more about what takes place behind the chicken wire courts all winter long.

The first event is our social opener where we will have a paddle demonstration taking place at 6:30PM on Friday, October 5th, followed by a catered dinner on the courts which will be a great opportunity to learn more about the paddle activities and the sport that the majority of the EYC members are currently participating in. The second event is a FREE day of paddle lessons for junior players and Adults on Sunday, October 13th.

This year we will be running many of the popular events of the past but will also be introducing several new programs such as the social opener, family friendly Friday’s, and the Rotisserie tournament. We are especially excited to announce our first Junior Paddle Tennis Program for kids ages 10-16 where we will strive to teach the basic paddle skills while providing a fun atmosphere. More emphasis will be placed on social events and fun tournaments this year to round out our competitive league play where our men and women compete against various clubs on the North shore. To learn more about any of the events or gain a better understanding please contact the paddle tennis committee.

We have our weekly court sign-up process we call contract times where a group reserves the same court at the same day and time each week throughout the season. The contract times are primarily occurring during the week in the evenings. There are no contract times on the weekends and the courts are free almost all day each weekday so please use the online court reservation system to find an available court by clicking HERE for the location on the Paddle page of the EYC website.
