Jud Smith took 3rd overall at the Star North American Championships last week. 33 boats sailed for the Championship out of Royal Hamilton Yacht Club in Ontario. Jud won the last race of the regatta, forcing a three-way tie for the title. Jud was third on the tie-breaker. EYC's Tomas Hornos was fifth overall, 14 points back.

Gary Gregory aboard Valiant won overall honors at this year's east coast Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge series by winning the final event in Newport. Bruce Dyson and the crew of Pleione took third in Newport and won the series overall in the Spirit of Tradition Class.
