Intensive Swim Lessons 2011
Intensive swim lessons are a great way to build your child's confidence in the water as the summer gets under way. Most children hang up their swim suits once the pool closes for the season and they do not have any instruction until the EYC opens again in June. Get a jump start on their swimming with a 3:1 ratio between teachers and students. The consistency of 5 days in a row with the same teacher is key to your child's success. If your child needs to build confidence without their bubble or your child needs more independent stroke skill, we do it all. Your child will be matched with other students based on age and ability.
Cost is $100 per child for 5 days of lessons. These classes fill up fast and they are on a first come first serve basis.

Kids Diving Clinic 2011
We are very excited to be offering our 2nd season of diving lessons to any child that has passed their Gator! Zach Romanovsky, a Senior at Marblehead High School, will be running our diving program. Zach began diving at the age of 10 for the Charles River Diving Team. He has spent the last two years diving for Marblehead High School, as well as teaching diving at the Lynch-Van Otterloo YMCA. Zach will also be joining the EYC Pool as a full-time Lifeguard.
The lessons will focus on safe diving practices beginning with the basics from the side of the pool, with a natural progression to blocks and the 1m board. Two four-week sessions will be offered with lessons meeting Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm. A minimum of 2 children must enroll in order for the class to take place, but the class size will not exceed 6 children. If interested, children will have the opportunity to compete at the EYC Swim Meets. If interested is a great chance for the kids to try out competing and put their new skills to work!
Session #1 - June 27th - July 21st
Session #2 - July 26th - August 18th
Each session will cost $60 per child.

Water Aerobics 2011
Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercise in both the shallow end and deep end of the pool. We also use water weights as a type of resistance training to build and strengthen your muscles. The whole class is set to music. We meet rain or shine Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30-8:30am! The cost is $15 pp/week, begins June 20th and goes through the end of the season. Sign up and payment will take place at the pool.
Masters Swimming 2011
Masters is for any member over 18 years of age that is an experienced swimmer, a triathlete, or an individual simply looking for a great workout or improved technique. If you have never tried our Masters Swim Program, or are coming back for another year, we highly encourage you to try out one or both sessions this summer! We are very excited to have Craig Lewin, USA Swimming Coach, graduate of Boston College and the Varsity D1 Swim Team, and nationally ranked triathlete run our program this year. Craig has completed his BS from Salem State in Sport Movement Science and is finishing up his MS in Exercise Physiology at Northeastern University. Craig's workouts will be tailored to each individual swimmer to help improve swim technique, endurance, stroke mechanics and improved efficiency. With his 10 plus years of experience, Craig works with individuals at their own pace with a primary focus on making them a better swimmer and obtaining their own personal swim goals.
We will need a commitment from at least 4 members to take part in each 4-week session meeting twice a week (Tuesday and Thursdays) from 6-7am. The cost of each session is $80 ($10/workout). Drop-ins are welcome at $12/workout.
Water Basketball Tournament 2011
Calling all teens interested in a fun season of Water Basketball! Zach Blatt, Sophmore at St. Johns Prep, has generously offered to run the program. Once the pool opens, a sign-up sheet will be hanging in the Function Room. There will be space for 8 teams made up of 4 people. Each team will need to come up with a team name. After the teams are submitted, Zachs will make a schedule. 2 or 4 games will be played each night, one on the right side of the pool, one on the left. The games will be played with a half court format. A record of wins and losses will be recorded. The top 4 teams in the league will go to the playoffs on Aug. 8th. A special prize will be awarded to the winning team followed by pizza and drinks! Water Basketball will take place on Monday evenings, 6:30-7:30pm, beginning June 27th and ending on August 8th (except for July 4th). If you would like more information, please email Zachs at zblatt13@stjohnsprep.org.
