Beth Marrie, Pool Director, comes to the EYC after eleven successful years of service as the Manager at The Beach Club. During the school year she is a Physical Education Teacher and After School Program Advisor for Lynn Public Schools. Beth was the former Waterfront Director for the YMCA Children's Island Day Camp and Assistant Swim Team Coach at Salem State University where she was voted coach of the year at the New England Swimming and Diving Championships in 2007. Outside of her professional interests, she was the former Cheerleading Director and Coach for Swampscott Pop Warner, Elementary Basketball Coach, PTO member and Girl Scout Leader. Beth currently lives in Swampscott with her husband and three children.
Sarah Burnham, Assistant Pool Director, graduated from Swampscott High School in 2009, where she played soccer and lacrosse for all four years. She completed her freshman year of college at the University of Virginia and she transferred to Boston University to pursue a career in physical therapy. Sarah is in a 6-year program at BU where she will graduate with a BS of Health Science and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. This will be Sarah's third summer as a lifeguard at the EYC.
Zach Romanovsky, Life Guard/Diving Coach, is a Senior at Marblehead High School and will be running our diving program. Zach began diving at the age of 10 for the Charles River Diving Team. He has spent the last two years diving for Marblehead High School, as well as teaching diving at the Lynch-Van Otterloo YMCA. Zach will also be joining the EYC Pool as a full-time Lifeguard.
Katie Hayman, Head Swim Coach/Life Guard, is returning for her 3rd season as a Guard and her first year as our Head Swim Team Coach. Katie has been an Assistant Coach each summer. Katie graduates from Marblehead High this year and will be attending Notre Dame in the fall. She has been swimming for the Salem Country Club for eleven years, and 4 years swimming with the YNS Sharks. Katie also coaches the Marblehead Intramural U-10 girls soccer team.
