Henry Brauer and Stewart Neff Finish 11th at NYYC Race Week
Posted On: July 20, 2010

NEWPORT, RI - 7/18/10 - Racing on Monday, the final day of New York Yacht Club Race Week, was cut short when a large squall packing winds over thrity knots and heavy rain forced the Race Committee to abandon racing and send all competitors ashore midway through the day's first race.  Henry Brauer and Stewart Neff and their crew aboard SCIMITAR finished 11th overall in the highly competitve 20-boat J/105 class.  Racing was extremely close in the J/105s - Brauer/Neff scored 51 points over the six race series and only seven points separated their 11th place finish from 5th.  Full results can be found here

Monday's storm was quite impressive - and was caught on video - click here to view video coverage (SCIMITAR is J/105 #526).  The J/105s were on the racing circle furthest offshore and caught the brunt of the storm.

SCIMITAR will be on the line at Marblehead Race Week - along with 20 other 105s.
