Stobart painting sold. Member Alan Bell loans "Babboon"

For many years, the Stobart painting: Triumph in America "Australia II" Winning America's Cup has hung above the fireplace in the Ballroom of the Club. This painting was generously loaned by member Geoff Mason Recently sold, the Stobart has moved from it's place at the EYC. Member Alan Bell, stepped up and loaned a painting by Richard Loud of Charles Francis Adams' "Babboon". The boat was built in 1888. It was one of the 40 foot class designed by Burgess. The painting was done in 1993 and now sits prominently in the ballroom. Do stop by to see this stunning piece of maritime art.
