PADANARAM, MA - 6/20/10 - Ben Richardson won the 2010 Championship of Buzzards Bay Laser Regatta, sailed out of hte New Bedford Community Sailing Center.  Conditions were classic Buzzards Bay conditions, with breeze ranging from fifteeen to twenty knots for the duration of the event.  With just two races to go, three sailors - Ben, Peter Shope, and Mark Bear - were within three points of each other, with Ben in second, two points behind Shope.  Ben finished strong, winning both of the final races, to take the lead and win the regatta by one point over Shope. 

By winning the The Championship of Buzzards Bay Regatta, Ben wins the Saltmarsh tophy, named for Buzzards Bay Regatta founder Robert Saltmarsh (pictured, presenting the trophy).  The win also qualifies Ben for the US Sailing Singlehanded Championship, the O'Day Trophy.  Congratulations Ben!
