Team EYC Wins Marblehead Team Race
Posted On: June 21, 2010

Sailors in the first annual Marblehead Team Race were treated to a perfect weekend of sailing conditions in Salem Sound.  The four team event began on Saturday under skies and southerly breeze that built from eight to fifteen knots throughout the day.  Twenty-four races were sailed on Saturday, with Team EYC sailing to an undefeated record at 12-0.  Alden Reid/Pat Hession, Spencer Powers/Kim Kaull, and Pleon Coach Clinton Hayes/Laura Walsh-Rogalski made up the Eastern Yacht Club.  Sunday's conditions were a bit lighter than Saturday's, but still allowed for twelve additional races to be sailed.  Alex Cook, sailing with former high school and current college teammates, managed to give Team EYC their only loss of the regatta, taking the first race of the day with a 1, 3, 5 winning combination.

Next up for dinghy team racing - Wednesday Night Team Racing in Vanguard 15s.
