The EYC Sonar Charter program offers members access, without the hassle and expense of ownership, to Puritan and Volunteer, our club-owned 23-foot Sonar sail boats. Whether you're off for a pleasure sail or want to give your children a chance to practice the skills they've learned in the Junior Sailing Program, members can reserve our family-friendly boats for a few hours or for the entire day.

Designed by reknowned naval architecht Bruce Kirby, the Sonar affords those who sail it the ability to line up against the world's best competition on one day and meander around the harbor with friends on the next. The Sonar maneuvers effortlessly around the Eastern's docks and also stands firm in lumpy water.

Any EYC member or spouse may reserve and sign out a boat at the front desk once they have been properly checked out by the Sailing Director and have received a signed waiver for the season. Boats may be reserved by Season Charter members up to 7 days in advance and Pay-As-You-Go members up to 3 days in advance.
