MARBLEHEAD, MA - 1/28/2010 - The EYC Sailing Committee has secured top racing rules expert Dave Perry to give an all day Racing Rules and Tactics Seminar on March 6th at the Eastern.  The seminar will include a thorough review of the Racing Rules of Sailing; "Dave's Top Ten List of Tactical Tips" which includes tactical applications of the racing rules in key areas around the race course; and a one-hour informal Q&A session with America's top rules expert. 

Tickets are $30 for adults; $15 for high school and college sailors.  Members may charge to their Club accounts.  Space is limited advanced ticket purchase is required.  Please contact the Club at 781.631.1400 to purchase your tickets now.

9:00  - 12:00  The Racing Rules and their Tactical Applications - in this presentation Dave goes through the racing rules, including the new changes in the 2009-2012 rules, ensuring that sailors and officials understand the rules and how to apply them to situations from common to complex, with a look to how to maximize winning tactics with an increased rules knowledge.

12:00 -1:00  Lunch (Bring your own lunch)

1:00 - 4:00  Dave's Top Ten List of Tactical Tips - an advanced look at tactical positioning at key areas around the race course, with an analysis of the applicable rules and decision making process in each.  The afternoon takes the content from the morning and illustrates how to use rules knowledge to improve your racing

4:00 - 5:00 Informal questions and answers with Dave Perry.  (Chit or Cash/Drink Ticket Bar) Dave will join the attendees for a debriefing and a chance to continue the day's discussion in the Barker Room
