Wednesday Night Vanguard 15 Team Racing
Wednesday Evening Team Racing in BYO V-15s is a "pick up" series - no need to show up with a full team, just bring your boat and your crew to the EYC dry-sailing area at 5:00. This series features high level team racing and non-stop action. With the course location near the harbor mouth, there is often a spectator fleet keeping an eye on the team racing and the Weds Night PHRF racing! Guest boat storage is available at EYC if you plan on sailing regularly - contact Greg Wilkinson for more information.
The third annual Marblehead Team Race will be sailed on June 16-17 in Vanguard 15s. Last year's event featured 135 races sailed by 11 teams in just two days and attracted a top-level field.
Keel Boat Team Racing, Harbor Challenge 2012
Harbor Challenge is open to all EYC members and features a weekly team race series in Sonars against Boston and Corinthian Yacht Clubs. Racing is every Thursday evening, July 5 through August 16 (no racing during Marblehead Race Week) and begins with a team meeting at the flagpole at 5:30pm. Sign up weekly by emailing Greg Wilkinson. Immediately following racing, an informal debrief, complete with video footage and refreshments, is held for all participants in the Barker Room.
Commodores' Cup 2012
The Corinthian YC will host this year's Commodores' Cup. The event is sailed in Sonars, 3-on-3, with one team each from the Boston, Corinthian and Eastern Yacht Clubs. At least one Flag Officer from each club is required to sail for his/her team. Racing will be followed by a reception at the Eastern and the Awards Ceremony - where the burgee of the winning Yacht Club team will be hoisted from the CYC flagpole and flown until colors that day.
Halloween Team Race
EYC will host the third annual Halloween Team Race on October 27-28. This regatta has become a popular event on the keelboat team racing circuit. With full colored sails and racing right off the docks of the EYC, this event is not to be missed.
