Known as the "Old Wharf," this great rugged structure, adjacent to the Club, was originally built around 1880 by Ephraim Brown to enable boats to land on Marblehead Neck. The boats loaded the produce that grew abundantly on Brown's farm - squash, onions, corn, and cabbage! A jaunty little steam ferry at the end of the pier, The Blonde (sister ship of Brunette), shuttled passengers between the town and the Neck.

In 1901, the EYC Council purchased the Old Stone Pier as well as land between the Club and Nanepashemet Street. Tennis courts, parking, and dry sailing now occupy that area. In 1950 Pleon built its first club house on the Stone Pier.
